This service offers everything you'll find in my landscape design package (see Landscape Design page), but with a dedicated focus on sustainability.
With this service, together we aim to create a garden that not only has a low impact on the environment, but even benefits the wider ecosystem as well as yourself.
If you are someone who sees beauty in seasonal change, the wilderness of nature, and the satisfaction of growing your own food as a reward for the effort you’ve put into your garden, this is for you.
The Voila Approach to Sustainability
Though sustainable gardens are often regarded as "messy," I believe they don’t have to be.
By using a blend of timeless design principles (scale, harmony, rhythm, simplicity, and focal points) alongside sustainable and permaculture principles (observation, storing energy, reducing waste, integration, diversity...), we can transform your garden into a beautiful, functional space.
My areas of focus and my approach are as follows:
A thoughtful mix of NZ natives and plants for birds and insects to support the local ecosystem.
Planting for biodiversity
Designing stylish kitchen gardens that integrate seamlessly into your landscape design while providing fresh, seasonal food for your family.
Food resilience
Selecting recycled or locally sourced materials that reduce the carbon footprint of the design, without sacrificing the aesthetics of the garden.
Local and/or recycled materials
Solutions for rainwater collection and managing storm and waste-water responsibly.
Water management
Using clever, porous material for paths, living areas and driveways to help manage water runoff and keep the earth healthy and hydrated.
Permeable solutions
Applying the core design principles like scale, repetition, simplicity, focal points... to give "wild" nature a beautiful frame and ensure your garden feels peaceful rather than out of control.

The process and prices for a sustainable design are the same as described on my Landscape Design page.
